Response: I disagree with this quote because even though the future will be more technologically friendly and social media is becoming part of our every day lives, I think that everyone should also be able to depend on themselves instead of relying on others. If they are unfamiliar with something, then they should ask someone else to familiarize themselves with it, but only to learn how to do it themselves. My mother used to tell me that if I wanted something done right and to the best of my ability I had to do it myself, not with anyone else or having anyone else do it. Since the world is becoming more social, I see where they are coming from because we need to be able to communicate; in the end though, I believe that becoming social is a good thing but solitary work is what can really make a difference or help a person become better educated.

Picture: I found this in the sample pictures whenever we were learning how to do put things in a post. I believe it is a perfect example of the mixing of social and solitude work. Mrs. Lindstrom told me how to do it and I, by myself, clicked the buttons and learned. If she did it for me, I would never know how to do it myself.

| This little guy is in solitude, but is surrounded by plenty of fish. This is a perfect example of why solitude shouldn't be deemphasized. I believe everyone needs solitude sometimes. |

It is very important for children to learn to work independently! Children learn to become independent by watching other perform tasks, being able to ask more knowledgeable others questions, and trial and error. So yes I agree, education is a mix of social collaboration and independent work! Your image reflects this belief!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I thought that it was fate for me to randomly stumble upon an image that went along with the point I was trying to get across.
